[MANNAM] Do you know famous actors’ Korean nickname??

[MANNAM] Do you know famous actors Korean nickname??

We studied Korean a lot through this blog, didnt we?
Even it might not be as good as offline Korean class, but least you learned something, right?
So, because we studied a lot, lets have break time!
I brought some interesting topic today.
Did you guys know that there is a Korean nickname to famous actors?
Here are some of them.

Do you know the actor Jake Gyllenhaal? He was a prince in the movie Prince of Persia. He got a nickname from Korean fans which is 재익(Jae-ik). It sounds like same, isnt it?

How about 석호필(Seok-ho-phil)? Can you guess whos nickname is this?
He became famous with the drama called Prison break. As you guess, 석호필 is Michael Scofield. We call him 석호필(Seok-ho-phil) because it sounds like(Sco-t-field).
Not only him, Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), the guy who uses same room with 석호필(Seok-ho-phil), has a nickname too. Sucre is written in Korean like this. 수크레(Sucre). But to make it short, we call him 숙례(Suk-ryea).
As a last character in the Prison break, the lawyer Veronica Donovan is called as 베변(Bae-byeon). Not like the nicknames above, this nickname doesn sounds similar with the name. Its because the nickname is not only about the name, but also includes job. Her job is lawyer whis is called 변호사(Byeon-ho-sa) in Korean. So, with the first syllable of her name Ve(Be) and her job (Byeon), fans add these two syllables and call her 베변(be-byeon). Isnt it brilliant?

Now, can you guess who has the nickname as 팀벌레?
He is a singer and also an actor.
His name is Justin Timberlake. In Korean, his name is written like this. 저스틴 팀버레이크(Justin Timberlake). But as you know, Koreans like to make it short and feel like Korean name, so we call him 팀벌레(Tim-beol-rae).
Cute name, isntit?

So, how did you like this topic?
Hope you enjoyed and I will come back with more interesting topic next time.
